EN.malanginspirasi.com – The Indonesian National Police (Polri) reported that the implementation of Operasi Ketupat 2026 on day 10 has proceeded safely and conducively. Based on data from Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 18:00 WIB to Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 06:00 WIB, there were no significant incidents that disrupted public order and security.
However, Polri noted ongoing dynamics on the ground, particularly in the traffic sector. A total of 292 traffic accidents were recorded, resulting in 8 fatalities, 60 serious injuries, 489 minor injuries, and material losses exceeding Rp206 million.
On the other hand, vehicle movement data shows that the mudik (homeward) exodus is still underway. As of 06:00 WIB on March 22, 2026, 2,007,253 vehicles had left Jakarta — approximately 56.9% of the total projected figure.
Spokesperson for the Operasi Ketupat 2026 Public Relations Task Force, Kombes Pol. Marupa Sagala, urged the public to prioritize safety during their journeys, especially when visiting tourist destinations.
“We appeal to those planning to travel, particularly to tourist sites, to remain cautious and put safety first. Especially at water-based attractions such as beaches, rivers, and swimming pools,” said Marupa.
He also reminded tourism operators to play an active role in protecting visitors by strictly observing capacity limits and safety standards.
“We remind both managers and the public to always respect carrying capacity and prioritize safety. So that tourism activities can run smoothly and comfortably,” he added.
Leverage the Government’s WFA Policy
Furthermore, Marupa encouraged the public to schedule their return journeys (arus balik) to avoid vehicle pile-ups at peak times. One effective measure is to take advantage of the government’s Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy.
“The public is also urged to utilize the Work From Anywhere or WFA policy so that the return traffic flow can be spread out gradually and not concentrated at the same time,” he explained.
In addition, the government is offering toll tariff discounts that travelers can use to plan more efficient trips.
“Take advantage of the toll discount policy on March 26–27, 2026 so that your journey is more efficient and free from heavy congestion,” he added.
According to predictions, the peak of the return traffic is expected on March 24 and March 28–29, 2026. Therefore, the public is advised to plan their travels carefully.
At the end of his statement, Marupa conveyed a special message to those celebrating Idulfitri:
“We wish everyone a joyful reunion with family during this Eid al-Fitr. May all your journeys be safe, smooth, and filled with happiness,” he concluded.
