Commemorating National Children’s Day, Unisma Students Host Charity Event at Nurul Jadid Orphanage

Malanginspirasi.com – On Friday, November 7, 2025, students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI) program at Universitas Islam Malang (Unisma) successfully organized a heartwarming charity event at Nurul Jadid Orphanage in Wagir, Malang Regency.

Held in observance of National Children’s Day on November 20, the event took place after Friday prayers and continued until late afternoon.

It featured cash donations and essential grocery packages distributed to the orphanage’s families.

The initiative fulfilled a coursework requirement in Protocol Studies, coordinated by PBSI lecturer Itznaniyah Umie Murniatie, S.Pd., M.Pd.

Beyond academics, the primary goal was to celebrate children’s rights and encourage generosity.

Fundraising Efforts and Community Spirit

Dhani, a student representative, explained the event.

“There are many motivations behind this positive activity, as it creates a significant impact for both the foundation and our peers. But the main one is to celebrate National Children’s Day on November 20,” he said.

Funds were raised through two channels: formal funding proposals and digital open donations. Preparations began a week in advance, with appeals widely shared.

The event went beyond material aid, incorporating storytelling sessions and playful interactions with the children.

“The recipients were overjoyed,” Dhani shared.

“They loved the event, especially since we shared stories and played together,” he added.

The program ran smoothly and received enthusiastic feedback.

While no fixed schedule exists yet, Dhani affirmed the group’s dedication:

“Whenever there’s a major holiday or celebration, we’ll organize similar social activities,” he stated.

This student-led effort highlights how academic responsibilities can spark meaningful community impact and nurture empathy among future educators.
