EN.malanginspirasi.com – A group of young people with disabilities in Malang City distributed 500 free takjil packages to the public on the 20th day of Ramadan, coinciding with the blessed night of Lailatul Qadar, Tuesday (March 10, 2026) afternoon.
The charitable activity was held in front of the Catholic Cathedral Church on Jalan Ijen, Oro-oro Dowo Village, Klojen District, Malang City. The takjil was distributed openly to local residents as a gesture of solidarity during the holy month.
One of the initiators, Rara Lingga Mardiani Pragasiwi, said the initiative has become an annual tradition throughout Ramadan.
“Alhamdulillah, this is our initiative as people with disabilities in Malang City. We were moved to share free takjil with the community,” Rara said at the scene on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
She explained that the program initially started with personal funds from the disabled participants. They later opened the door for donations from anyone who wished to contribute.
This year, support poured in from various donors, including Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto (former Malang City Police Chief and known as the “Father of Disabilities” in Greater Malang), Gilang J99, Notary Dimitri, several former senior police officials (PJU) of Polresta Malang City, and many others.
Rara expressed profound gratitude to all donors and volunteers.
“We are extremely thankful because this year’s donations were very substantial. We used every single rupiah — 500 takjil packages were distributed to the surrounding community and gift parcels were also given to several orphanages,” she said.
Building an Inclusive Society
Beyond financial support, the event received strong volunteer assistance from fellow people with disabilities and other helpers, creating a truly inclusive atmosphere and ensuring smooth execution.
“This is our way of spreading and realizing an inclusive environment,” Rara added.

Meanwhile, Fany, a person with physical disabilities and co-initiator of the program, shared her hope that the activity will continue every year and inspire others.
“We hope society sees that people with disabilities are capable of doing the same good deeds as anyone else. May what we do become an inspiration for everyone, especially in spreading kindness,” Fany said.
The initiative not only serves as a means of sharing sustenance during Ramadan but also beautifully demonstrates the spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) and inclusivity within Malang City society.
