Find Out An Excellent Collaboration of Google Maps and Kementerian PU During Eid al-Fitr Homecoming

en.Malanginspirasi.com – The Ministry of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia (Kementerian PU) collaborates with Google to make it easier for the public to find the locations of the Kementerian PU Homecoming Posts (Pos Mudik) during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming (mudik) period through the Google Maps digital service.

Minister of PU, Dody Hanggodo, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration, which aims to provide easy information for the public during their homecoming journey.

“Thank you very much to Google for your collaboration. Our shared goal is to provide the public with the widest possible convenience and information so they can travel home safely and comfortably,” he said  in an official statement quoted from Info Publik.

Kementerian PU has prepared 496 Pos Mudik across Indonesia to support the smooth journey home.

These posts are located on national roads and strategic points along the homecoming route frequently used by travelers.

Travelers can simply type “Kementerian PU Pos Mudik ” into the Google search bar or Google Maps  to find the nearest post that can be used as a resting place during their journey.

They can take a break to maintain their physical condition during their journey.

Those posts provide various basic facilities  such as rest areas, restrooms, drinks, snacks, and other essentials, so travelers can recover before continuing their journey.

Entertainment and relaxation facilities such as karaoke, PlayStations, and massage chairs are available in several posts to enhance traveler comfort,

In addition to providing rest stops, the posts also serve as standby points to support emergency response on the homecoming routes.

They include anticipating traffic disruptions and potential disasters such as flooding, inundation, and landslides along the national road network.

Besides Google Maps, Kemen PU also provides a microsite for information on the homecoming route, accessible at mudik.pu.go.id.

The microsite provides various important real-time information such as road and bridge conditions, the location of homecoming posts, congestion-prone areas, flooding and landslide-prone areas, and CCTV monitoring along several road sections.

Meanwhile, Richard Darsono, Strategic Partner Development Manager for Geo Google Indonesia, stated that they are honored to support the Indonesian tradition of homecoming through Google’s technology.

“We are honored to once again support the Indonesian tradition of going home for Eid through our technology. By integrating the Ministry of Public Works’ strategic homecoming posts into Google Maps, we want to ensure every traveler has access to accurate, real-time information at their fingertips,” he said.

He added that the technology can help people easily find safe rest areas, making their homecoming journey more comfortable.

“Our focus is on helping people mitigate travel fatigue by easily finding safe rest areas, so that the 2026 homecoming trip will not only be logistically smooth but also safe for the entire family,” said Richard.
