Malanginspirasi.com – In a heartfelt celebration of Mother’s Day, Malang City Police (Polresta Malang Kota) organized the “Khitan Bahagia” (Joyful Circumcision) event on Saturday, 13 December 2025.
The free mass circumcision program is part of the Indonesian National Police’s broader community service initiative, specifically targeting families in need across the Malang Raya area.
A Commitment to Child Welfare
Led by Malang City Police Chief, Commissioner General (Kombes Pol Nanang Haryono, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si., the event reflects the police force’s ongoing commitment to child protection and healthy child development with strong moral values.
“This ‘Khitan Bahagia’ is more than just a medical service. It is part of the police’s dedication to society,” stated Kombes Nanang.
“Circumcision is a recommended practice in Islamic teachings and brings significant health benefits. Through this activity, Malang City Police want to be present for the community, maintain children’s health from an early age, and strengthen the bond between the police and the public,” he added.
The event took place at the Sanika Satyawada Ballroom of Malang City Police Headquarters and was attended by children from across Malang Raya.
Professional medical teams, supported by the Indonesian Plasma Energy Circumcision Association (HPPEI) Malang branch, carried out the procedures in a child-friendly environment with health education and emotional support were also provided.

Kombes Nanang highlighted the long-term health advantages of circumcision, including better genital hygiene, reduced risk of urinary tract infections, prevention of certain sexually transmitted diseases, and overall improved long-term health.
Malang Mayor, Wahyu Hidayat, officially opened the event and expressed his appreciation for the initiative.
“We applaud Malang City Police not only for maintaining security but also for caring about social, humanitarian, and health aspects. Programs like this greatly help residents and strengthen synergy between the local government and the police,” said Mayor Wahyu.
The event was also attended by the Head of the Health Office, Head of the Social Affairs Office, medical teams, HPPEI representatives, and proud parents.
Overwhelming Community Response
Public enthusiasm exceeded expectations. Originally planned for 100 children, registration surged after primary school exams ended, allowing more boys to participate.
In addition to the free circumcision, each child received gift packages containing a sarong, peci (traditional cap), medicines, and vitamins, jointly provided by Malang City Police and Malang City Government.

Achmad Fuad, a parent from Karang Besuki, Sukun District, shared his gratitude:
“Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful that our son Rehan could join this free, well-organized, and caring program. We hope Malang City Police continue this meaningful activity for the benefit of the community and our children,” he said.
Through the “Khitan Bahagia”, Malang City Police aim to leave a lasting positive impact on children’s health while fostering stronger social bonds and solidarity among the police, local government, and the people of Malang.
