EN.malanginspirasi.com – The East Java Regional Police (Polda Jatim) is working in synergy with multiple sectors to deliver the best possible service to the public during Operasi Ketupat Semeru 2026.
Head of Public Relations for Polda Jatim, Kombes Pol Jules Abraham Abast, stressed that since the operation began on March 13, 2026, the force is not only managing homecoming traffic flows.
Kombes Abast emphasized that protecting the worship process for Muslims observing Ramadan fasting through to Eid al-Fitr prayers, as well as for the Hindu community performing Nyepi and celebrating the Saka New Year, is the top priority.
“The main focus is to ensure the worship process remains solemn and undisturbed,” said Kombes Pol Abast on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
As Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Operasi Ketupat Semeru 2026, he explained that while traffic is a consequence of the holiday season, maintaining public security and order (Kamtibmas) in residential areas and places of worship is fundamental.
“Homecoming is important, but the solemnity of worship and stability of public security are the true foundation,” he asserted.
Kombes Abast added that Polda Jatim and its personnel will provide security at approximately 18,365 Eid al-Fitr 1447 H prayer locations — both mosques and open fields — across the province.

In addition, security will be deployed at various high-risk sites prone to disturbances, including 68 terminals, 12 commercial ports and 79 people’s ports, 6 airports, 53 train stations, 274 shopping centers, 488 tourist and entertainment venues, and several gas stations that may experience long queues.
With maximum security efforts from Polda Jatim, in close coordination with cross-sector partners during Operasi Ketupat Semeru 2026, East Java is expected to remain fully conducive and safe.
The Head of Public Relations also urged residents planning to mudik to secure their homes properly and report to local RT/RW leaders or neighborhood security officers.
“Let us all work together to realize Safe Homecoming and Happy Family,” he concluded.
