UB Establishes Academic Partnership with Massey University New Zealand

en.Malanginspirasi.com – Brawijaya University (UB) held a partnership strengthening discussion with Massey University to strengthen academic cooperation.

“Enhancing Academic Partnerships between Brawijaya University and Massey University, New Zealand, through Potential Strategic Initiatives in Joint and Double Degree Programs,” was the theme of the discussion that took place on the 8th Floor of the Rectorate Building, Brawijaya University, on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, M.P., stated that international cooperation is key to strengthening UB as a world-class university.

Prof. Imam hopes to provide support to faculty members (lecturers) in pursuing further education (SDE/doctoral), encourage joint research and publications between professors from various fields, and increase global exposure for students to be more competitive on the international stage.

Deputy Vice Chancellor for Students and Global Engagement, Dr. Tere Denison McGonagle-Daly, emphasized the importance of preparing future generations to have access to a good, quality education.

Also, the Deputy for Global Academic Affairs, Henny Rosalinda, S.IP., M.A., Ph.D., explained that the presence of IRO representatives from each faculty provided a forum for discussion and fostered direct collaboration with Massey University professors.

“We will introduce all the professors directly to the IROs, so we can facilitate any concrete collaborations, whether joint publications, staff exchanges, student exchanges, joint teaching, and others,” said Henny.

The focus group discussion included five groups representing Massey University and the faculty IROs, ensuring a genuine exchange of ideas and collaborative programs with concrete outcomes.

There were 10 professors representing Massey University attended the meeting as well as the  representatives from the International Relations Office (IRO) from each UB faculty.
