Prof. Hamidah stated that the development of international classes and double degree programs is part of FIA’s commitment to improving the quality of education and strengthening graduates’ competitiveness on a global scale.

“Our target is not only national competitiveness but also global competitiveness,” she said.

According to her, academic collaboration with various universities abroad will open up opportunities for students to gain cross-border academic experience.

“Furthermore, students can broaden their perspectives in understanding administrative science in a global context,” explained Prof. Hamidah.

This Double Degree Program does not only provide students with the opportunity to study in an international academic environment.

“It is also part of our effort to prepare graduates who will be able to contribute to policy formulation, both in the fields of public administration and business administration,” she said.

Global environment, Hamidah said, has strong influence on both fields.

Strengthening International Classes as UB’s Vision and Mission

Strengthening international classes and global educational collaboration is also inseparable from the university’s vision and mission.

“UB has a vision, and this is part of our performance agreement related to international academic networks and enhancing the university’s reputation globally,” stated Prof. Hamidah.

She explained that the double degree program and international class collaborations have already taken place from 2007 to 2022 with six universities in Japan.

They include Tohoku University, Kyoto University, Takushoku University, GRIPS University, Rijumekan, and Asia Pacific University (APU).

“Then, from 2010 to 2015, we also added our double degree program with two universities in Thailand: Burapa University and Prince of Songkla University,” she said.

In addition to the undergraduate program, Hamidah added, the Faculty of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (FAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with New Zealand’s Massey University.

“The double degree program receives full support from the university, and we already have a decree for its implementation in 2026,” Hamidah concluded.

Prof. Hamidah explained that funding for double degree students is supported by Bappenas scholarships.

“This Bappenas scholarship program has been running since 2007 and, thank God, it continues to this day,” he concluded.
