en.malanginspirasi.com – The Cerdas Cermat (Smart and Precise) 4 Pilar competition organized by the MPR RI (People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia) has gone viral after a video showing alleged inconsistent judging sparked widespread criticism on social media.
The competition at the West Kalimantan provincial level was held in Pontianak on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
The final round, which featured top schools including SMAN 1 Pontianak and SMAN 1 Sambas, became controversial during the question-and-answer session.
The disputed question concerned the institution whose consideration must be taken into account by the House of Representatives (DPR) when selecting members of the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK), based on Article 23F paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution.
Team C from SMAN 1 Pontianak answered: “Members of the Audit Board of Indonesia are elected by the House of Representatives with due regard to the consideration of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) and inaugurated by the President.”
One of the judges, Dyastasita WB (Head of the Constitutional Studies Bureau of the MPR Secretariat General), deducted 5 points.
He claimed the phrase “Dewan Perwakilan Daerah” (DPD) was not clearly audible.
The same question was later posed to Team B from SMAN 1 Sambas.
Their answer, which was substantively almost identical, received a perfect score of +10 points.
Members of SMAN 1 Pontianak politely protested the decision, but the jury maintained that scoring was based on what was clearly heard at the judges’ table.
One judge, Indri Wahyuni, S.IP. M.A as the Head of Socialization Secretary then mentioned about less audible articulation.
“Articulation is important. The jury assesses based on what is clearly audible,”she mentioned.

Through its official Instagram account (@smansaptk.informasi), SMAN 1 Pontianak has demanded an official and transparent clarification from the organizing committee and the MPR RI.
The school considers its team’s answer to have been substantively correct and clearly articulated, and has called for an evaluation of the judging process to maintain the integrity of the competition.
