He made this statement while attending the Stadium General Lentera Graduation Ceremony (LEGACY) held by the Lowokwaru Muhammadiyah Branch Leadership (PCM) at the Joint Lecture Building at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, East Java Province, on Tuesday (June 2, 2026).
Ali expressed his appreciation for PCM Lowokwaru’s commitment to consistently contributing to the development of education in Malang City.
He stated that education plays a strategic role in addressing the various challenges facing today’s young generation.
“I express my appreciation to PCM Lowokwaru for consistently developing education. Amidst the various challenges of the times, education remains the primary instrument in building the character of the nation’s generation and a superior Islamic generation,” Ali said.

He emphasized that the orientation of education is not only towards academic achievement, but must also shape the character, morals, mentality, and moral resilience of students.
Ali believes that the various social issues facing children and adolescents today require a more comprehensive educational approach to produce a generation that is intelligent and possesses integrity.
“We are currently facing various problems among children and adolescents. Therefore, education is not enough to simply produce academically intelligent graduates; it must also be able to shape the character, morals, mentality, and moral resilience of the younger generation,” he emphasized.
Ali also highlighted the role of PCM Lowokwaru in supporting educational advancement in the Lowokwaru area, known as one of the largest educational centers in Malang City.
He argued that the existence of various schools and universities must be balanced with increased access to education for all levels of society.
Furthermore, he also mentioned emphasized the importance of ensuring that no child loses the opportunity to receive an education due to economic limitations.
Therefore, collaboration is needed between the local government, educational institutions, community organizations, and various community elements.
“No child should drop out of school simply because of financial constraints. The Malang City Government (Pemkot Malang), together with all elements of society, including Muhammadiyah, must continue to collaborate to ensure education is accessible to all,” he said.
Besides education, Ali also highlighted the importance of equitable distribution of the benefits of economic development to the community.
As one of the centers of economic growth in Malang City, Lowokwaru is considered to have significant potential that needs to be optimally managed to improve the welfare of its residents.
On the event, Ali urged all parties to continue strengthening the role of education as a means of building civilization.
He believed that education grounded in knowledge and religious values will produce a generation capable of contributing to society, the nation, and the state.
“Hopefully, the children who study in the Muhammadiyah community will grow into a strong, knowledgeable, moral, socially conscious generation capable of bringing progress to the nation, state, and community,” he concluded.
