Malanginspirasi.com – To commemorate its 40th anniversary, SMP Negeri 14 Malang held a lively class meeting event on Wednesday, 10 December, 2025, filled with various inter-class competitions.
The competitions included Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), tug-of-war, a unique triathlon relay, and a classroom creativity contest.
Series of Anniversary Competitions
Event Committee Chairman Dimas Aryo Wicaksono explained that the competitions were organized not only for entertainment but also to strengthen teamwork and create a comfortable classroom atmosphere. Each event was carefully designed to match current student interests and trends.
Regarding the inclusion of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Dimas said the esports tournament has become a regular school tradition.
“Last year we held an MLBB competition open to the entire Malang region, so we need to keep the excitement alive. Even though this year’s edition is internal, we still included MLBB to accommodate students’ passion for the game,” he explained.
One of the highlights was the triathlon relay, which combined several fun and challenging tasks in a single race — such as transferring water using basins, running while dropping nails into bottles, and blowing ping-pong balls across water.
Meanwhile, the tug-of-war competition brought high energy to the school courtyard, with mixed-gender teams from each class competing fiercely against one another.
Student Creativity on Display
The classroom creativity competition was equally captivating, giving students a platform to showcase their ideas, imagination, and teamwork by decorating and organizing their classrooms.
“One of the main reasons for this competition is to motivate students to keep their classrooms clean and comfortable. After all, the classroom is their primary learning space,” Dimas concluded.
Principal Rachmat Suliadi added that the creativity contest serves as an important opportunity to encourage students to explore and develop their abilities.
“This competition helps students become more creative and capable of turning their ideas into reality,” he said.
The event is expected to do more than just provide post-exam entertainment. It aims to strengthen solidarity among students and offer a positive, healthy competitive experience.
