malanginspirasi.com – The National Police (Polri), together with the TNI (Indonesian Military), the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and other security elements, have prepared a joint force of 26,386 personnel to labor protests within the jurisdiction of the Jakarta Metro Police (Polda Metro Jaya).
Jakarta Metro Police Head of Public Relations Budi Hermanto stated that this joint force is prepared to secure 99 public activities.
Of these, 73 involve the public expression of protests, while the remaining 26 are general public events.
“This state of readiness has been established through both internal and external coordination meetings,” said Budi Hermanto.
Security preparations also involved a “Tactical Floor Game” simulation, engaging the Jakarta Metro Police, the Jaya Military Command (Kodam Jaya), other TNI elements, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and internal security units (Pamdal) from the DPR (House of Representatives) and MPR (People’s Consultative Assembly).
According to Budi, this coordination aims to align perspectives regarding service protocols and security measures for public activities within the Jakarta Metro Police’s jurisdiction.
Large numbers of personnel have been deployed to specific locations hosting public activities.
Approximately 4,000 personnel have been assigned to handle protests around the National Monument (Monas) and the Silang Selatan (South Cross) area.

Meanwhile, security operations in the Bundaran HI, Dukuh Atas, and Jalan MH Thamrin areas involve approximately 4,051 personnel. Around 3,663 personnel have been assigned to the DPR and MPR complex area.
Personnel have also been deployed to other locations, such as Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM), the High Court, and several other points.
“The deployment of these personnel aims to provide service and security support so that public activities—including the public expression of views—can proceed smoothly. Likewise, we hope that other public activities will also proceed as expected,” said Budi.
Labor Protest at Bundaran HI
Regarding the labor protest in the Bundaran HI area, Budi stated that the event is scheduled to take place in front of the UOB building.
The protest led by Andi Gani Nena Wea is scheduled to begin around 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM WIB.
After voicing their aspirations and demands, the protesters are expected to disperse and return to their respective locations.
According to Budi, this time constraint was set with consideration for public activity along the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor.
“It has been agreed that the event will take place at Dukuh Atas or near the UOB building. It will run from 10:00 AM—or possibly 11:00 AM—with the aim of conveying specific demands and aspirations. Afterward, once these have been voiced, the group will disperse and return to their respective locations,” he explained.
Budi stated that the organizers have also agreed to several conditions, including respecting the activities of the general public and preventing other groups from infiltrating or joining with the intent of disrupting public order and safety.
Student and Labor Protests at the House of Representatives (DPR)
In addition to the labor protest at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout, demonstrations are also taking place near the House of Representatives (DPR) and the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) complex.
Budi noted that the crowd in that area consists of a coalition of students, laborers, and farmers, totaling between 600 and 750 people.
Meanwhile, at the Monas South Cross (Silang Selatan), the “Kamisan” (Thursday Action) protest—held routinely every Thursday—is taking place.
This gathering also involves a coalition of students, laborers, and labor-related groups.
In total, there are 73 separate demonstrations or expressions of opinion taking place across various locations.
Key areas of focus include the DPR/MPR complex, the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor, the Monas area, the Ministry of Agriculture, other ministries, and the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM).
Police Prepare Anticipatory Measures
The Jakarta Metro Police (*Polda Metro Jaya*) are also implementing preventive measures to anticipate any groups or parties attempting to disrupt the demonstrations.
These measures involve cyber patrols and digital media monitoring, specifically targeting calls to action that could potentially threaten public order and safety.
“The Jakarta Metro Police have implemented various measures, consistently adhering to a cooperative and humane approach while respecting human rights,” said Budi.
Should any actions arise that disrupt public safety and order, the Jakarta Metro Police Law Enforcement Task Force will take firm, precise, and measured action.
“Police officers and security personnel will not hesitate to take firm, precise, and measured action,” he emphasized.
Budi also urged all coordinators, rally participants, and event organizers to express their views in an orderly and peaceful manner, respect the rights of others, comply with applicable regulations, and safeguard public facilities.
“Public facilities belong to us all, and their preservation is our shared responsibility,” he stated.
He emphasized that the expression of opinion is a public right that must be respected.
Therefore, security personnel will provide services and security escorts, so that all activities can proceed safely, peacefully, in an orderly manner, and responsibly.
