BI Malang Prepares Rp4.123 Trillion for Eid Al-Fitr Currency Exchange

Malanginspirasi.com – The Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KPwBI) in Malang has allocated Rp4.123 trillion in new cash to meet the public’s currency exchange needs ahead of Hari Raya Idul Fitri (Eid Al-Fitr) 2025/1446 H. This initiative aims to ensure the availability of fit-for-circulation cash for the community during the festive period.

According to the Head of the Malang BI Office, Febrina, out of the total allocation, Rp3.777 trillion is earmarked for large denomination notes or Uang Pecahan Besar (UPB), while Rp345 billion is designated for small denomination notes or Uang Pecahan Kecil (UPK).

This currency exchange program is designed to cater to various public transaction needs, ranging from significant purchases to everyday small transactions.

BI Malang has also set a maximum limit of Rp4.3 million per individual for new currency exchange. This measure ensures equitable access to new cash for all community members.

Specific limits per denomination are as follows: Rp50,000 (max Rp1.5 million or 30 notes), Rp20,000 (max Rp500,000 or 25 notes), Rp10,000 (max Rp1 million or 100 notes), Rp5,000 (max Rp1 million or 200 notes), Rp2,000 (max Rp200,000 or 100 notes), and Rp1,000 (max Rp100,000 or 100 notes).

“The amount of money exchanged by the public may be less than the maximum limit. But the quantity per denomination must not exceed the established limits,” emphasized Febrina.

This policy is implemented to prevent the accumulation of new currency in the hands of certain individuals and to ensure availability for the entire community.

BI Malang hopes to provide optimal currency exchange services and support smooth financial transactions during the Eid Al-Fitr period.
