en.malanginspirasi.com – Facebook and Instagram have returned to normal following a brief outage that affected thousands of users across the United States (US) on Sunday night, according to outage-tracking website Downdetector.com.
The incident began at around 8:55 p.m. ET, with reports of problems quickly increasing on both social media platforms, Reuters reported.
Downdetector recorded more than 17,000 outage reports for Facebook at the peak of the disruption, while Instagram received more than 5,000 reports.
The figures, however, do not necessarily represent the actual number of people affected.
Downdetector collects user-submitted reports from multiple sources, meaning the number of reported incidents can differ from the total number of users experiencing problems.

Reports of disruptions dropped sharply by around 10 p.m. ET, suggesting that Facebook and Instagram had largely restored their services.
Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, had not immediately provided an explanation for the disruption.
The company also did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters regarding the incident.
The latest outage comes after Facebook and Instagram experienced another service disruption in July.
At that time, Downdetector recorded as many as 4,808 reports of problems affecting Facebook and 2,829 reports involving Instagram.
Brief disruptions can quickly attract widespread attention when they affect major social media platforms used by millions of people.
Users commonly turn to outage-monitoring websites to determine whether a problem is limited to their own connection or is affecting a broader group of users.
While the latest disruption appeared to be resolved within a relatively short period, Meta has not publicly identified what caused the outage in the United States.
