en.malanginspirasi.com – The family of a journalist Yudistiro Pranoto hopes that the latest discovery regarding one of the missing victims in the Sunda Strait will serve as a starting point to resume the search for the group, whose fate remains uncertain.
Rhodiyah Nasution, the wife of Yudistiro Pranoto expressed this hope after receiving direct support from Fifi Aleyda Yahya, the Director General of Public Communication and Media at the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi), in Depok on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026.
Rhodiyah expressed her appreciation for the attention and prayers offered by the government and fellow journalists to her family.
She noted that such support means a great deal to the family as they await certainty regarding Yudistiro’s whereabouts. “Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to Ibu Fifi for coming here, praying for us, and offering direct support. It means so much to our family,” said Rhodiyah.
She stated that the news of the recent discovery has rekindled the family’s hope that search efforts would be carried out.

The family hopes the process will provide certainty regarding the whereabouts of Yudistiro and the missing group.
“As a family, we have high hopes that following this discovery, there will be further search efforts so that we can obtain definitive answers,” she said.
Rhodiyah explained that the family had actually received information about the discovery earlier.
However, confirming the identity required a verification process involving DNA testing from the family. Initial information suggested the confirmation results would take about two weeks.
However, the final identification results were obtained sooner than expected.
For the families, the waiting period became the most difficult phase after the search operation was called off. In this situation, their only recourse was to persevere through prayer and hope for good news. “We have only one course of action: prayer. There isn’t much else we can do—just pray and hope every day,” said Rhodiyah.
As part of their efforts, a communal prayer gathering was also scheduled at Yudistiro’s home.
The prayers were intended not only for Yudistiro but for the entire group that went missing in the Sunda Strait.
“We want to pray not just for my husband, but for the whole group lost in the Sunda Strait, hoping for the best possible news,” she said.
The families are now pinning their hopes on the possibility of new developments arising from the findings. To them, every piece of verified information is crucial in paving the way toward certainty for the families of the victims who are still waiting.
