Kemendikdasmen Launched Bug Bounty 2026, Find Out Who Can Participate

en.Malanginspirasi.com – The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) officially launched the 2026 Bug Bounty Program as a strategic step to strengthen cyber resilience in the national education sector.

This fifty year annual program carries the theme ‘Build Cyber Resilience’ and is part of a systematic effort to maintain the security of the digital education ecosystem.

Through the Center for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin), Kemendikdasmen encourages educators to become not only technology users but also to play an active role in detecting and addressing potential information security vulnerabilities.

The Head of Pusdatin, Wibowo Mukti, emphasized that this aim of this program is becoming a safe space (sandbox) for participants to test their cybersecurity skills without disrupting ongoing system services.

“The Bug Bounty Program is a bridge to channel interest in cybersecurity into proud achievements,” said Wibowo, in a written statement received by InfoPublik on Wednesday (April 8, 2026).

This program implements Secretary General Regulation Number 11 of 2022 concerning the Information Security Management System (ISMS) within the framework of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).

Furthermore, this step also strengthens digital security governance in the educational environment.

The 2026 Bug Bounty is open to four categories of participants: high school/vocational school/Islamic high school students (minimum age 17), university students, teachers, and lecturers.

Registration will take place from April 6–30, 2026, through the Aman Bersama platform, followed by a testing phase from May 1–22, 2026.

The assessment process will take place in two stages.

The first stage will emphasize technical aspects, with a weighting of 70 percent based on the CVSS v3.1 standard, and reporting quality with a weighting of 30 percent.

Five finalists from each category will then participate in an interview, with assessments based on technical aspects, communication, and originality.

The series of activities will conclude with the 2026 Bug Bounty Awards on June 19, 2026.

Wibowo emphasized the importance of cross-stakeholder collaboration in addressing increasingly complex cyber threats.

He highlighted the increasing trend of ransomware and artificial intelligence-based phishing attacks throughout 2025, which poses a serious challenge to digital system security.

As a token of appreciation, winners will gain cash prizes, certificates registered with the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), and the opportunity to join the Manggala Edu community.

Through this program, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education hopes to foster cyber talents from educational settings who can strengthen the national digital security system and support a safe and sustainable technology-based educational transformation.
