en.malanginspirasi.com — The newest recruit of Liverpool, Jeremy Jacquet, has expressed his pride and excitement after finalizing his move to Anfield, describing the Premier League giants as a legendary club.
The France U21 international defender traveled to the AXA Training Centre to complete the formalities of his transfer, a deal that was agreed upon earlier this year and is set to be officially ratified in the coming days.
Speaking in his first official interview with the club, the highly rated center-back revealed that Liverpool’s rich history and vision made the decision an easy one for him and his family.
“It’s a legendary club, and the football philosophy and project really appealed to me,” Jacquet said. “My family and I believe we have made the right choice and we feel really happy here.”

The towering defender also admitted to being awestruck by the silverware on display at the training ground, which has fueled his ambition to add to the club’s illustrious history.
“I’ve seen all the cups and trophies and seen just how many there are, and I thought: ‘Wow, I really want to be part of the history of this club.’ I want to try to bring back many more of them.”
Injury Recovery and Pre-Season Readiness
Jacquet missed the final months of last season with a shoulder injury while at Stade Rennais, but handed Liverpool a major boost by confirming he is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation.
The defender expects to be fully fit for the grueling pre-season schedule, which includes a high-profile tour of the United States.
“I feel much improved and I will be 100 per cent ready [for the start of pre-season] because I’m a little ahead of schedule,” Jacquet explained. “With continued hard work, I’ll be fully fit before the season.”
“I am very excited because there will be the first matches, the first training sessions with my teammates, and I hope that it will go well,”as he is looking ahead to the US tour.
Learning from Van Dijk and Bringing Leadership
When asked about what he brings to the squad, Jacquet described himself as an athletic, quick, and composed modern defender who excels at playing out from the back.
Despite his quiet demeanor off the pitch, the young Frenchman—who has captained France at various youth levels—believes his natural leadership will eventually shine through.
“I think that I can bring that kind of leadership gradually,” he said. “I’m pretty talkative out there on the pitch, even though I’m fairly reserved off it.”
The prospect of partnering Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is another major draw for the youngster. While Jacquet stopped short of calling the Dutchman an “idol,” he made no secret of his admiration for the veteran center-back.
“I’m really excited to line up alongside a great player like him,” Jacquet said. “I think he’s up there with the best center-backs in the world currently, so I can only learn from him. If I want to reach the very top, I’ve got to absorb as much as I can from him.”
