Malanginspirasi.com – Bubur Sumsum Endul Dapur A3 has not only become a favorite among residents of Sawojajar in Malang, but has also captured the hearts of anyone who has ever tasted its authentic, premium Javanese-style porridge. This culinary gem, helmed by Try Karya Susanti, proves that traditional food can still hold a special place in the hearts of many and even carve out a significant market share.
Try, the owner of this burgeoning business, shared with Malang Inspirasi that her porridge venture has been running for five years and has been conducted entirely online.
Interestingly, she decided to start this business in 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I finally decided to open Bubur Sumsum Endul, and Alhamdulillah, the market response has been positive,” she explained.
Try acknowledged that bubur sumsum is a traditional dish widely available in Malang. However, she chose to differentiate her product by offering something unique.
“Our production stands out because we use premium ingredients and a distinct presentation that sets us apart from similar products in the market,” she added.
Beyond the enhanced flavor profile, the business offers a range of packaging options catering to diverse price points, from Rp5,000 to Rp50,000, making it accessible to a broad consumer base.
Try revealed that her recipe combines rice flour with fresh coconut milk, resulting in a savory flavor even without added sugar. However, she still includes brown sugar to enhance the taste further.
Interestingly, since the Covid-19 pandemic, Bubur Sumsum Endul Dapur A3 has expanded its market reach to various cities in East Java.
“We once received an order of 100 boxes in a single shipment. However, for now, we only serve the Malang region because the product has a limited shelf life,” she explained.
This porridge has also become a favorite dish for breaking the fast (buka puasa) at SMK PGRI 3 Tlogomas Malang for the past two years, with orders reaching 180 packs at the Rp10,000 price point.

Support from Malang’s Diskopindag
Try highlighted the significant support she received from the Malang City Cooperatives and Trade Office (Diskopindag).
“I attended a training program organized by Diskopindag, where I received equipment like lights and tripods, as well as valuable knowledge that greatly benefited my business,” she concluded.
Orders can be placed via WhatsApp at 0852-3496-7243 or through direct messages on Instagram (@dapura3_).
As an entrepreneur, Try understands that product quality and effective marketing are the keys to success. Through meticulous market research, she has developed innovative menu offerings and implemented an appealing branding strategy.
In short, Bubur Sumsum Endul Dapur A3 is more than just a traditional dish; it is a testament to the power of innovation and adaptability in preserving and promoting local culinary heritage.
