en.malanginspirasi.com – The Faculty of Agriculture (FP) Brawijaya University (UB) performed its commitment to improving the quality of scientific publications through a Training on Publication of Articles in Reputable International Journals Indexed by Scopus and Web of Science, featuring an international resource person, Prof. Alec Zuo from Flinders University, Australia.
The training took place on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) on the 3rd floor of the Agricultural Socio-Economics Building.
All lecturers from the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics and several postgraduate students attended this training.

His presence provided a valuable opportunity for participants to understand the standards and strategies for entering globally indexed journals.

In his remarks, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FP UB Dr. Afifuddin Latif Adiredjo, S.P., M.Sc. emphasized the importance of ongoing mentoring for scientific article writing.
He stated that the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics has consistently initiated various programs to increase international publication capacity.
“The Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics frequently holds mentoring events for international-level article writing. We hope that after this event, we will have produced 30 draft manuscripts of international quality,” he said.
The training then continued with the main session, which featured a presentation by Prof. Alec Zuo.
In his presentation, he comprehensively discussed strategies for writing manuscripts for international journals, from selecting relevant topics and developing a systematic article structure to tips for navigating the peer-review process.
He also emphasized the importance of research novelty, analytical rigor, and appropriateness to the journal’s scope.
Participants were highly enthusiastic throughout the event, particularly during the interactive discussion session, which provided a space for lecturers and students to consult directly regarding challenges encountered in the publication process.
The aim of the training FP UB can prepare academics better to produce high-quality scientific work that can compete internationally and contribute significantly to the development of science.
