Malanginspirasi.com – Indonesian horror-thriller film ‘Para Perasuk’, internationally titled LEVITATING, has been officially selected to have its World Premiere and compete in the prestigious World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
The announcement was made on December 11, 2025, via the film’s official Instagram account @filmperasuk.
‘Para Perasuk’ is one of only 10 international feature films chosen for the highly competitive World Cinema Dramatic Competition section.
The Sundance Film Festival 2026 will take place from January 22 to February 1, 2026, in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, United States.
Recognised as the largest independent film festival in the U.S., Sundance has been a vital global launchpad for filmmakers since it was established under the Sundance Institute, the non-profit organisation founded by Robert Redford.
This year, the festival received a record 16,201 submissions from 164 countries, including 4,255 feature-length films (1,676 from the U.S. and 2,579 international).
Being selected among thousands of entries marks a remarkable milestone for Indonesian cinema.

Directed by acclaimed Indonesian filmmaker Wregas Bhanuteja – known for his distinctive visual style and bold storytelling – the film boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast that includes Angga Yunanda, Anggun C. Sasmi, Maudy Ayunda, Bryan Domani, Chicco Kurniawan, Indra Birowo, and Ganindra Bimo.
