Malanginspirasi.com – The Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya (FCS UB) reaffirmed the commitment to build clean, transparent, and accountable governance through the 2026 Integrity Zone Socialization and Launching event held in the FCS UB Building B Hall on Monday (2/9/2026).
This event also marked the launch of the Service Announcement and the signing of the Integrity Pact, as tangible forms of collective action by the FCS UB academic community to build a professional and ethical work culture.
The event started at 8:30 a.m. with an opening by the Head of the FCS UB Integrity Zone, followed by a speech by the Dean of FCS UB, Dr. Sahiruddin, S.S., M.A., Ph.D.
In his remarks, the Dean emphasized that the Integrity Zone (ZI) is not just a ceremonial activity, but an essential milestone in the long journey of bureaucratic reform on campus.
“This is a moral and institutional commitment that must be the lifeblood of all our activities, whether academic, administrative services, financial, or social interactions,” he said.
The event continued with an information session on the Integrity Zone by the UB Bureaucratic Reform Team (SRB), followed by an open discussion.

It culminated in the launch of the 2026 FCS UB Integrity Zone, the signing of the Integrity Pact by all structural officials and stakeholders, and the launch of the Service Announcement.
FCS UB emphasized that the development of the Integrity Zone is not solely the responsibility of the work unit.
Yet, it is a collective movement that all elements, FCthe Dean, lecturers, educational staff, and students, should implement.
“All unit leaders, expert staff, sub-division heads, and the Chair of the FCS UB LKM were present at this event. This shows the institution’s seriousness in building a culture of integrity,” said Sahiruddin.
Signing of the Integrity Pact
The participation of various parties was also evident, including stakeholders from outside UB, such as representatives from Taruna Nusantara High School, SMPN 6 Batu, GPAS, Rumah Seni Budaya Singhasari, and principals from several leading high schools in East Java.
The comittee invite them as strategic partners in strengthening transparency and public accountability.
The involvement of these external partners also reflects FCS UB’s openness in building an Integrity Zone that is not only internally oriented but also reaches the broader community, which is the primary beneficiary of education and cultural services.
During the signing of the Integrity Pact, the atmosphere was solemn and enthusiastic.
All participants, from the Dean to department heads, program heads, and unit heads, signed the commitment document, which was witnessed by all guests and accompanied by a group photo.
This action was not merely symbolic but part of a collective pledge by all elements of FCS UB to be at the forefront of public service reform in higher education.
Through this activity, FCS UB strategically strengthens its position towards the title of Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) and Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Zone (WBBM).
As stated in the launched Service Announcement, FCS UB has a strong commitment to provide excellent services that are fast, transparent, responsive, and oriented towards the needs of service users.
“The hope is that the Integrity Zone at FCS UB will not merely be an administrative slogan, but will truly become a living work culture, integrated into every aspect of academic and institutional life,” concluded the Dean of FCS UB.
