en.malanginspirasi.com – Neeltje Deliana Insjowi Werimon was entrusted with the role of flag tray bearer for the Merah Putih during the flag-lowering procession marking the 81st anniversary of the Indonesia Independence Day at the Merdeka Palace.
She stood ready within the ranks of the “Indonesia Adil Makmur” (Just and Prosperous Indonesia) team of the National Flag-Raising Troop (Paskibraka) on the ceremony of Indonesia Independence Day, August 17th.
This role placed the student from SMA Negeri 8 Jayapura, Papua, at the forefront of the solemn procession as the Sang Merah Putih was lowered from the flagpole to be subsequently stored with the utmost honor.
This trust is part of the journey undertaken by the nation’s finest youth from various provinces who make up the “Indonesia Adil Makmur” Paskibraka team.
They bear the significant responsibility of executing every stage of the ceremony with discipline, precision, and deep respect for the national symbol.
Observations by InfoPublik via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on the evening of Monday (August 17, 2026) revealed that, as the tray bearer, Neeltje played a pivotal role in the sequence of the procession.
The tray she carries serves as the vessel to receive and transport the Red and White flag after it is lowered.
Consequently, every movement must be executed with precision and in strict accordance with the established ceremonial protocol.
The role of the tray bearer holds special significance.
Far from merely carrying ceremonial equipment, Neeltje plays an integral part in the final salute to the Red and White flag at the conclusion of the independence commemoration ceremony at the Merdeka Palace.

To ensure operational readiness, the role of the backup tray bearer was entrusted to Ismi Ulfaida, a female Paskibraka member from West Sulawesi Province and a student at Sekolah Rakyat.
The presence of a backup tray bearer is part of the Paskibraka formation’s preparedness to ensure the entire ceremony proceeds according to plan.
Within the main formation, Neeltje does not perform her duties alone; every Paskibraka member has a distinct, complementary role to play in the flag-lowering procession.
Atanasius Meyllano Frans Yogar from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province—a student at Giovanni Catholic High School in Kupang—was entrusted with the role of Commander of Group 8.
Meanwhile, the duty of flag raiser was assigned to Maharazthu Rizqhy Ramadhana Chubuyana, a Paskibraka representative from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province and a student at SMAN 1 Taliwang.
The task of flag stretcher was entrusted to Mirza Rafi Navazani from West Kalimantan Province, a student at SMAN 1 Sintang.
Meanwhile, the position of Commander of Group 17 was entrusted to Baruno Wicaksono, a Paskibraka member from West Java Province and a student at SMA Taruna Nusantara Cimahi.
The Paskibraka Company Commander role is held by Captain (Pilot) Bagus Setianto, who currently serves as the Head of Flight Operations (Kapokops Flight) for FGS, Air Squadron 5, Air Wing 5, at Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base.
For Neeltje, the honor of carrying the tray during the Red and White flag-lowering procession represents a vital part of her service as a Paskibraka member.
The appointment of the “Indonesia Adil Makmur” Paskibraka team marks a significant part of the 81st Anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Indonesia’s independence.
These Paskibraka members do not merely perform a ceremonial role; they also represent the youth from all corners of Indonesia.
Within the formation, Neeltje holds a role of special significance.
Representing Papua, she has come to the Merdeka Palace to undertake the solemn duty of carrying the tray for the Red and White flag during the flag-lowering ceremony.
This task symbolizes both the trust placed in a student and the honor of participating in a pivotal moment of the independence commemoration.
