EN.malanginspirasi.com – The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) is actively broadening employment pathways for persons with disabilities by placing entrepreneurship training at the heart of its strategy. This proactive approach aims not only to foster economic self-reliance among disabled individuals but also to position them as active creators of new job opportunities, shifting the paradigm from passive job seekers to innovative entrepreneurs who contribute directly to national economic growth.
The initiative was formally launched by Sukro Muhab, Special Staff to the Minister of Manpower, during the opening of the 2026 Entrepreneurship Service Activity themed “Wirausaha Inklusif, Tumbuh Bersama” (Inclusive Entrepreneurship, Growing Together). The event took place in Bantul on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Sukro emphasized that employment opportunities must be continuously expanded to fully harness Indonesia’s national potential.
He highlighted that career paths are not confined to traditional formal sectors such as civil service or corporate employment. Instead, significant prospects exist through self-employment, the creative economy, and the strategic use of digital technology.
“Job vacancies exist everywhere—not only within companies, but they can also be created by individuals themselves. What we need to encourage is for society to transition from being job seekers to becoming job creators,” he stated.

Through this program, Kemnaker is implementing two core focuses: targeted entrepreneurship training specifically designed for persons with disabilities, and capacity-building support for emerging micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM). Sukro firmly asserted that physical limitations should never serve as barriers to achievement.
“Physical limitations are not obstacles. What matters most is creativity and the ability to think critically. We are committed to ensuring that our friends with disabilities enjoy equal access to development and economic independence,” he concluded.
