385 Residents Sent Off Safely by Bupati HM Sanusi

En.malanginspirasi.com – Malang Regency Regent HM Sanusi, together with Vice Regent Hj Lathifah Shohib, the Regional Leaders Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Malang Regency, and representatives from bus operator PT Bagong Dekaka Makmur, officially sent off 385 participants of the Free Mudik Lebaran 2026 program on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Pendapa Agung of Malang Regency, Jl. KH Agus Salim, Klojen District, Malang City.

The program is an initiative by the Malang Regency Government to ease transportation costs for residents during the Lebaran homecoming season while prioritizing travel safety. The majority of participants – 86 percent or approximately 331 people – are residents of Malang Regency, while the remaining 14 percent come from outside the area.

Safe, Comfortable, and Orderly

“This program is a form of service from the regional government so that the community can return home safely, comfortably, and in an orderly manner,” said Sanusi after the departure ceremony at the Pringgitan hall of Pendapa Agung Malang Regency.

To ensure smooth operations, the Malang Regency Government prepared seven buses, each with a capacity of 55 passengers. The routes cover five main destinations in East Java:

  • Sumenep via Bangkalan–Sampang–Pamekasan
  • Ngawi via Nganjuk–Madiun
  • Banyuwangi via Probolinggo–Situbondo
  • Pacitan via Trenggalek–Ponorogo
  • Bondowoso via Probolinggo–Jember

Regent Sanusi stressed that the Free Mudik Lebaran 2026 is not only about saving money but also about reducing traffic congestion and minimizing the risk of accidents during the busy homecoming period. He urged all participants to follow instructions from officers, maintain order, take care of their health, and get enough rest during the journey so they arrive at their hometowns safe and healthy.

“All participants are expected to maintain their health, comply with officers, and keep order throughout the trip,” he emphasized.

Looking ahead, Sanusi expressed hope that the similar program for Lebaran 2027 can be expanded with additional buses and more participant quotas. He has instructed the Malang Regency Transportation Agency (Dishub) to prepare accordingly so that even more residents can benefit from the service.

The Free Mudik Lebaran program organized by Malang Regency Government has become a highly anticipated annual event, especially among middle- to low-income families who wish to return to their villages without the burden of high transportation costs.
