en.malanginspirasi.com – Marc Marquez delivered a masterclass under pressure during Saturday’s Tissot Sprint at the Mandalika MotoGP Indonesia, carving his way through early chaos to claim a thrilling victory and wrest control of the MotoGP World Championship standings.

The Ducati Lenovo Team star capitalized on a chaotic afternoon at the Mandalika International Street Circuit, while his chief title rival, Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing), endured a tumultuous rollercoaster ride that ultimately ended in fourth place and a shift at the top of the points table.

The 2026 Indonesian Sprint wasted no time living up to its dramatic billing.

When the lights went out, polesitter Raul Fernandez (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team) and Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) engaged in a fierce drag race toward Turn 1.

As multiple riders dived up the inside—including Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team)—the corner bottlenecked.

The resulting chain reaction forced several riders upright, leaving Bezzecchi with nowhere to escape and resulting in a heavy crash that eliminated both him and Fernandez on the spot. Fortunately, both riders emerged uninjured.

Amidst the early confusion, Martin exploited the opening, darting around the apex to inherit the race lead and quickly building a comfortable cushion of over a second.

A Rollercoaster Ride for Martin

With Martin seemingly cruising out front, Marquez maintained steady pressure in second place.

However, the race script flipped dramatically with just four laps remaining.

Martin suddenly lost significant pace, shedding more than two seconds in a single lap and allowing Marquez to sweep past into the lead.

Refusing to fold, Martin regrouped and mounted a ferocious fightback, reeling Marquez back in with three laps to go.

But as the gap narrowed to a razor-thin margin, disaster struck the Aprilia rider at Turn 15.

Pushing hard to retake the position, Martin ran wide, barely avoiding a complete crash with a miraculous save.

The mistake cost him dearly, dropping him out of the podium bracket and down to fourth place.

Ogura and Di Giannantonio Capitalize

As Martin scrambled to recover, Ai Ogura put in a stellar performance to steer clear of early trouble, guiding his Trackhouse machine to a brilliant second-place finish.

Behind him, Di Giannantonio rounded out the podium in third, capping off a strong Saturday for the Italian.

Crossing the line safely ahead of the chasing pack, Marc Marquez secured his maiden Sprint win at Mandalika, a massive psychological and mathematical boost as the season enters its final stretch.

Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) crossed the line fifth, followed by Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), who salvaged sixth despite serving a long-lap penalty for track limits.

Fermin Aldeguer, Francesco Bagnaia, and Fabio Quartararo completed the points-paying positions in seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.

Saturday’s dramatic twist leaves the championship standings tighter than ever, with Marc Marquez now holding a precarious four-point advantage over Martin at the top.

With Sunday’s main Grand Prix looming large and fallen contenders like Bezzecchi and Fernandez looking for redemption, the stage is set for another unforgettable showdown in Lombok.
