en.malanginspirasi.com – The Malang City Government (Pemkot Malang) becomes a reference point for regional development as Sorong Regency Government (Pemkab Sorong) conducted a working visit regarding housing development for civil servants (ASN) on Tuesday (May 19, 2026).
Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat welcomed Sorong Regent Johny Kamuru and his delegation at Malang City Hall (Balai Kota Malang).
In his remarks, Wahyu emphasized that Pemkot Malang continues to strive to build a comfortable, competitive urban ecosystem that provides a better quality of life for the community.
One of which is through the provision of decent housing for civil servants.
“We know that clothing, food, and shelter are primary needs. So, housing is indeed a primary need,” said Wahyu.
He explained that Pemkot Malang has currently developed three housing areas for civil servants (ASN) in Lesanpuro, Tlogomas, and Bandulan.
He stated that the development of ASN housing is not only aimed at meeting housing needs but also at supporting the productivity of civil servants in providing public services.
“We hope that these ASN can focus more on and prioritize public services without worrying about housing issues,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Sorong Regent Johny Kamuru stated that the purpose of this visit was to learn about regional asset management and the ASN housing development cooperation scheme implemented by Pemkot Malang with developers.
“We want to learn from the Malang City Government regarding the city government’s land assets, which are then being collaborated with REI (Real Estate Indonesia) for ASN housing development,” he said.
Johny added that his team also wanted to explore the technical cooperation model implemented by Pemkot Malang with housing developers in providing housing for ASN.
“There’s a lot we can learn from the Malang City Government. This city is extraordinary and has a long history of regional development,” he concluded.
