en.malanginspirasi.com – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has called on the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to continuously adapt to evolving global threats, including technology mastering as well as  prioritizing excellence and professionalism within the ranks of the TNI.

Prabowo delivered this message while presiding over the ceremony commemorating the 81st Anniversary of the TNI in Jakarta on Monday, October 5th, 2026.

According to hin, the current global situation is marked by turmoil and uncertainty.

Threats to a nation are no longer limited to physical attacks.

“The world today is full of turmoil and uncertainty. We do not know when a threat against us might become a reality. Threats today are not merely physical,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo touched upon various forms of threats that could undermine national interests, ranging from the spread of disinformation capable of dividing society to the smuggling of national assets.

The Head of State also highlighted the threat of narcotics smuggling into Indonesia, which he deemed a danger to the nation’s survival.

“The smuggling of our wealth out of the country—having it stolen—poses a threat to our sovereignty. The smuggling of narcotics into the country poses a threat to our nation’s survival,” Prabowo emphasized.

The President noted that these developments demonstrate that modern warfare and threats to the state do not always manifest as physical conflicts.

Consequently, the TNI is urged to continuously adapt its capabilities, enhance learning, and intensify training to confront a wide range of potential threats. “Warfare today does not necessarily take a physical form. Therefore, the TNI must keep adapting, learning—learning, learning—and training,” said Prabowo Subianto.

The President asserted that training and readiness must be geared toward preparing the TNI to face the worst-case threat scenarios.

The TNI, Prabowo continued, must evolve into a defense force that is professional, responsive, modern, innovative, and adaptive.

“The TNI must now master technology. The TNI must now prioritize merit. I emphasize once again: a great TNI is one that prioritizes merit,” stated the former Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Pangkostrad).

Prabowo also emphasized the importance of implementing a merit-based system regarding career development and the TNI organization.

“The system applied within the TNI must be a merit-based system, not one based merely on seniority,” the President asserted.

In addition to internal strengthening, Prabowo called on the TNI to synergize with ministries and agencies, the central government, and local governments—down to the village level.

According to the President, the TNI’s capabilities and resources must help accelerate the implementation of government programs and assist in overcoming the various difficulties faced by the public.

“The TNI must be capable of cooperating and synergizing with ministries, agencies, the central government, local governments, governors, regents, sub-district heads, village heads, and tribal leaders,” said Prabowo.

He reminded everyone that Indonesia possesses a vast territory comprising thousands of islands, maritime zones, and long border lines, alongside various strategic assets that must be safeguarded.

These geographical conditions make the TNI’s task a demanding one.

Consequently, the government will continue to build and strengthen national defense capabilities.

“We will also continue to build our strength. We must remember that the Indonesian nation is as vast as Europe. Europe consists of more than 30 countries. They have 30 armies, 30 air forces, and 30 navies. We have one TNI. Your task is heavy, but I am confident you are capable,” the President said.

Prabowo also assured that the government would continue to pay attention to the welfare of soldiers, including the education of their children, healthcare services, and the well-being of their families.

However, the President reminded them that as a “people’s army,” the lives of TNI soldiers should not be too far removed from the living conditions of the general public.

“The government will continue to pay attention to the welfare of soldiers, the education of their children, healthcare services, and the lives of military families. However, I emphasize once again: as the people’s army, the standard of living of the TNI must not be too far removed from the standard of living of the people as a whole,” said the President.

Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to the families of soldiers, who share in the consequences and sacrifices entailed by the service of TNI members to the nation.

The President emphasized that the honor, sovereignty, and independence of the nation, as well as the safety and welfare of the people, are great responsibilities resting on the shoulders of the soldiers.

“From Sabang to Merauke. From Miangas to Rote Island.  “Let us safeguard our territory. Let us protect our people. Let us strive to preserve our wealth so that it may benefit all the people of Indonesia,” said Prabowo.

In his closing remarks, Prabowo called upon all soldiers to continue carrying out their duties with honor and courage, and to remain united with the people.
