RANS Carnival Scaled Back After Massive Withdrawals as Backlash Hits Raffi Ahmad Events

en.malanginspirasi.com – The RANS Carnival in Yogyakarta has been delayed and sharply scaled back after a wave of withdrawals driven by public backlash against Raffi Ahmad.

Popular bands including Guyon Waton and Tipe-X pulled out, citing strong public sentiment.

“Kita mundur dari acara ini, Sampai jumpa di lain pesta, Salam X,” as quoted from the official Instagram @tipexofficial.

Organizers reported that about 95 percent of small vendors also withdrew, among them a local orange-juice stall that later invited customers to support the business at its Indomaret location.

Online, netizens urged others to buy products from the sellers and vendors who resigned or stepped away from the carnival, turning the boycott into a show of solidarity.

The rapid shift in public mood forced organizers to proceed with a much smaller version of the event.

Youth Pledge Ceremony at Bundaran HI Protest Landmark Sparks Online Criticism

The same wave of criticism has targeted other appearances by Ahmad, the Special Presidential Envoy for Youth and Creative Workers.

At the Indonesia Youth Summit 2026, where he spoke alongside Minister Erick Thohir, attendees raised protest gestures amid frustration over his role.

The discontent is also linked to a recent Sumpah Pemuda (Youth Pledge) commemoration that featured paid participants. Ahmad has said he joined that event on short notice and had no input into its planning.

The consecutive disruptions underscore how quickly online sentiment is reshaping event schedules and commercial participation around Ahmad’s public engagements.
