EN.malanginspirasi.com – The Cyber Crime Directorate of the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jawa Barat) has arrested two individuals in connection with social-media posts on Threads that discussed President Prabowo Subianto’s statements regarding Iran’s nuclear-weapons program. The content was accompanied by narratives and comments that police assessed as containing elements of incitement.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Jabar, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, explained that the case began with police report number LP B 1498/VIII/2026, received on 4 August 2026. An investigation followed on 5 August 2026.
The two suspects, identified by the initials AYP (49) and AF (40), were detained in the area of Jalan Raya Cimahi, South Cimahi, Cimahi City, along with a number of items of evidence.
According to police, suspect AYP uploaded the content on the Threads account @ontel_kebagusan on 3 August 2026. The post linked President Prabowo’s remarks on Iran’s nuclear weapons with the response of the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta. It contained narratives considered provocative, including an invitation to contact certain parties regarding the coordinates of the State Palace.
The upload prompted several comments. One of them, written by suspect AF, stated: “No need to complicate things, just wait until the motorcade passes and his head appears, then just take him out.”
Police assessed the comment as containing incitement to commit a criminal act of violence.
Hendra emphasized that enforcement is not limited to the original poster but also covers comments judged to be inflammatory.
Both suspects face charges under several articles of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) as well as the Criminal Code (KUHP), carrying a maximum prison sentence of four years and a fine of up to Rp200 million.
