En.malanginspirasi.com – Dr. Sri Untari Bisowarno, MAP, Chair of Commission E of the East Java Provincial DPRD, continues to accelerate real-world initiatives to lower the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT). In her latest effort, she has formed a strategic collaboration with the Singosari Job Training Center (BLK) to deliver a professional Makeup Artist (MUA) training program for local residents.
Centered at the Setia Budi Wanita (SBW) Cooperative in Malang, the program was officially launched on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Far from a short workshop, this is a comprehensive skill-incubation program that will run intensively for the next 33 days.
Participants will receive hands-on guidance from BLK Singosari’s professional instructors, mastering everything from foundational techniques to advanced makeup artistry skills.
Economic Empowerment
Sri Untari emphasized that the initiative directly responds to community aspirations for empowerment programs that deliver immediate economic benefits.
“This training is our concrete step in following up on residents’ aspirations. We want to turn potential into real actions that provide genuine financial benefits for families,” said the female politician, who also serves as Chair of the SBW Cooperative.
What sets this program apart is its strong focus on sustainability. Upon completion, participants will not only receive official competency certificates but will also be supported with MUA equipment to help them start working immediately.
“After the training ends, we want the mothers and other participants to be able to practice right away in their own homes or communities. With the tools we provide, they will already have the initial capital to launch their own MUA services,” added Sri Untari.
The creative economy sector — particularly beauty services — is viewed as highly promising and resilient to economic fluctuations. By equipping people in the Malang Raya area with specialized skills, the program aims to significantly reduce unemployment through independent entrepreneurship.
Sri Untari also expressed appreciation to BLK Singosari for the smooth synergy. This collaboration between the legislative body and a regional technical implementing unit is expected to serve as a replicable model for other community empowerment programs across East Java.
