en.malanginspirasi.com – Prof. Dr. Mohammad Saifur Rohman, Sp.JP(K), Ph.D., introduced a product called Deteko a Combination of Green Tea and Green Coffee for Heart Health from the Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University (FK UB) on Thursday, July 9th, 2026.
Familiarly known as Prof. Saifur, he explained that the idea for Deteko has been around for 12 years.
It all started with his desire to provide a healthy beverage option for the public, amidst the popularity of tea- and coffee-based drinks.
“The initial concept for Deteko was to develop a functional drink that people would enjoy and could be an adjunct to existing medications, especially for patients with metabolic syndrome,” explained Prof. Saifur.

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of health conditions that occur together, including central obesity (belly fat), high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high triglycerides, and high HDL cholesterol.
“Metabolic syndrome requires more attention, as the number of sufferers is increasing. If this continues unchecked, more people could suffer from heart disease. As a cardiologist, I want the public to become healthier by consuming Deteko twice daily, which has been clinically proven to lower blood pressure, obesity, cholesterol, and the risk of future heart attacks,” he explained.

Deteko’s advantage lies in its green tea and green coffee ingredients, which have undergone a decaffeination process, or the removal of caffeine.
This process is necessary because caffeine can cause heart palpitations.
It delivers serious risks for people with heart disease as it can cause shortness of breath, heart attacks, and even fainting.
Meanwhile, the ingredients and benefits of the green tea and green coffee remain intact.
“We publish at least three international journals annually. The development of Deteko itself has taken twelve years, resulting in thirty-six international scientific publications. This means this product has been scientifically proven,” he continued.
Currently, the product has obtained a permit from the Home Industry Food (PIRT) while on the process of obtaining permissions from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).
However, Prof. Saifur needs collaboration with tea and coffee producers and other parties to reach boarder market.
“We hope for collaboration, downstreaming with factories, and we also want to open a coffee shop,” he concluded.
