en.malanginspirasi.com – The Faculty of Aquaculture, Food Science, and Marine Sciences (FBiPK) of Brawijaya University (UB), and the Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) of Malang Regency, held a GEMILANG (Echo of Malang Regency Innovation) socialization event for the jury.
Held in the Senate Hall on the 6th floor of FBiPK, the event was the first step in supporting the Regional Innovation Competition, which aims to encourage the emergence of ideas, creativity, and innovation for the development of a more advanced and competitive Malang Regency.
Several stakeholders involved in the GEMILANG implementation attended the socialization event including a member of the Malang Regency Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Dr. Tantri Baroroh, S.E., M.Si., M.Ak., who also served as a member of the jury.
The presence of the judges canĀ strengthen the selection and assessment process for innovations that are objective, high-quality, and provide real impact to the community.
The Dean of FBiPK Brawijaya University, Prof. Prof. Mangku Purnomo, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., was present and led the socialization agenda.
In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities and local governments in building a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

“Universities have a strategic role in supporting the development of regional innovation. Through GEMILANG, we are not only seeking creative ideas but also building a culture of innovation that can provide real solutions to various development challenges in Malang Regency,” said Prof. Mangku Purnomo.
This socialization activity also served as a forum for aligning perceptions among the panel of judges regarding the implementation mechanism, assessment indicators, and strategic objectives of GEMILANG.
With a shared understanding, it is hoped that the judging process can proceed professionally and transparently.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tantri Baroroh, S.E., M.Si., M.Ak., a member of the Malang Regency Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) and a member of the jury, expressed her appreciation for the initiative of BRIDA Malang Regency and FBiPK UB in encouraging the strengthening of regional innovation.
As a concrete contribution to supporting the GEMILANG program, FBiPK sent two of its best delegates to participate in this activity: Dr. Sugeng Riyanto, S.P., M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Tri Rahardjo, S.U.
Their involvement is expected to strengthen the academic and substantive aspects of innovation in the assessment and program development process.
Through this outreach, FBiPK UB and BRIDA Malang Regency demonstrated their shared commitment to strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem.
The GEMILANG program is expected to become a strategic platform capable of encouraging the emergence of various new breakthroughs to support the innovative, competitive, and sustainable development of Malang Regency in the future.
Furthermore, this activity also supports the implementation of SDGs 9, 16, and 17.
