EN.malanginspirasi.com – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again held its 133rd graduation ceremony, conferring degrees on 1,770 graduates over two days beginning Saturday, 18 April. A highlight of this event was the personal attendance of Indonesia’s Minister of Transmigration, Dr. Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara, SH, MA, on the first day.
In his opening remarks, ITS Rector Prof. Dr. (HC) Ir. Bambang Pramujati, ST, MScEng, PhD expressed deep pride and gratitude to the graduates for successfully completing their studies.
“Congratulations on your achievement. May the knowledge you have gained become valuable capital as you face the challenges of the future,” said the 13th Rector of ITS.
At the same event, Minister Iftitah — affectionately known as Iftitah — also extended his congratulations. He reminded the graduates of the importance of being fully prepared for an increasingly complex world ahead.
“Congratulations on everything you have accomplished. I wish you every success as you navigate a world full of challenges,” he said, offering motivation.
On the first day, 702 graduates from four faculties received their degrees: the Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD), Faculty of Marine Technology (FTK), Faculty of Electrical Technology and Intelligent Informatics (FTEIC), and Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV).
The second day of the 133rd graduation ceremony will be divided into two sessions. The morning session will feature graduates from the Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering (FTIRS), Faculty of Civil Engineering, Planning and Geo-Engineering (FTSPK), Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business (FDKBD), and Faculty of Medicine and Health (FKK).
The afternoon session is dedicated to graduates of the School of Interdisciplinary Management and Technology (SIMT) as well as the formal inauguration of graduates from the Professional Engineer Study Program (PSPPI) at ITS.
Global Competitiveness Highlighted
The graduation also served as a platform to celebrate the outstanding achievements of many graduates during their studies. Rector Bambang Pramujati emphasized that these accomplishments demonstrate how ITS alumni are well-equipped to compete on the global stage.
“The achievements they have recorded show that ITS graduates possess high quality and strong global competitiveness,” explained the Professor from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Out of the total 1,770 graduates, 271 earned Cum Laude honors, 106 received Magna Cum Laude, and 57 achieved the highest distinction of Summa Cum Laude.
Among the 128 recipients of the Indonesia Smart Card – Higher Education (KIP-K) scholarship, 30 graduated Cum Laude, seven with Magna Cum Laude, and one with Summa Cum Laude.
In the undergraduate (S1) category, the title of best graduate went to young puppeteer Christopher Jason Santoso from the Department of Development Studies, who achieved a perfect cumulative GPA (IPK) of 3.98. He was also named the top KIP-K scholarship graduate. He was followed by Muhammad Tsaqif from the Department of Statistics with an IPK of 3.87.
The best graduate in the applied bachelor (D4) program was Muhammad Fadhli from the Manufacturing Engineering Technology study program in the Department of Instrumentation Engineering, with an IPK of 3.78.
Additionally, nine Master’s (S2) graduates and three Doctoral (S3) graduates achieved a perfect IPK of 4.0. ITS also graduated seven international students from Afghanistan, Tanzania, Gambia, Ethiopia, Cambodia, and Jordan.
Notably, this ceremony marked the first-ever graduates from the Faculty of Medicine and Health (FKK), specifically from the S1 Medical Technology program, as well as the first cohort from the S1 Telecommunication Engineering program in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
Upholding the Alma Mater’s Good Name
Concluding his address, Rector Bambang urged all graduates to continue protecting the good reputation of their alma mater, to apply their knowledge for the benefit of the nation and the state, and to maintain an unwavering fighting spirit so they can keep competing globally.
“Protect the good name of your alma mater, practice what you have learned, and keep striving so that you can give your best contribution to the nation,” he advised.

The 133rd graduation ceremony stands as concrete proof of ITS’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular, it advances SDG 4 (Quality Education) by producing outstanding graduates. It also supports SDG 5 (Gender Equality) through equal opportunities provided to all students regardless of gender.
To ensure the smooth continuation of learning, ITS has made long-term investments via the ITS Endowment Fund. During this ceremony, QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) codes were placed on the back of every graduate’s and guest’s chair to facilitate easy donations, directly supporting SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Equally important, ITS prepares its graduates to become competent professionals ready to contribute to the nation while advancing SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). The graduation of international students further reflects ITS’s efforts toward SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
