The family shared the tragic news in a joint statement posted to the Instagram Stories of Fiona’s sister, Mabel Lowe, on Wednesday.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family shared.
They paid tribute to the young teenager, remembering her as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”
The Lowe family further expressed the depth of their grief, adding: “She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.”
Though no cause of death has been disclosed, the family requested space to mourn and pointed readers toward mental health resources in their message, which was first obtained by People.

Chuck Lowe, Fiona’s grandfather, also took to Instagram on Wednesday to mourn, posting: “Rest in peace sweet Fiona.”
Born on November 16, 2012, Fiona was the middle child of Painter and Lowe’s three daughters.
Chad Lowe—known for his roles in “Life Goes On” and “ER,” and the brother of actor Rob Lowe—regularly shared glimpses of his family on social media, posting vacation videos and photos of his daughters together.
In a recent post dedicated to Fiona’s 13th birthday, her father shared a celebratory photo.
“Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” he wrote. “Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”
