en.malanginspirasi.com – A catastrophic blaze at a popular Bangkok bar and restaurant has left at least 27 people dead and dozens more injured, according to Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene just after midnight on Monday.
Upon arrival, firefighters witnessed terrified patrons desperately trying to escape through the venue’s engulfed main entrance.
Graphic footage shared on social media captured the intensity of the inferno, showing flames erupting from the building as screaming customers fled, with some falling to the ground and others visibly caught in the fire.
Prime Minister Charnvirakul, speaking to reporters at the site, confirmed the recovery of 27 bodies and noted that numerous victims had been rushed to local medical facilities.
While firefighters managed to contain the blaze within roughly 30 minutes, the damage was already catastrophic.
Local media reports indicate the deceased include 9 men and 18 women, while upwards of 60 individuals are currently receiving hospital treatment.
This morning, Thai news outlet Thairath reports that several people remain unaccounted for.
Outside the venue, grim images showed rows of body bags lined up as authorities cordoned off the area. Inside, the destruction was absolute, with the ceiling, walls, and furniture entirely charred and reduced to debris.
Trapped in the Ruins
Local media identify the venue as Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao.
It is a well-known entertainment and dining spot located in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district.
The Prime Minister revealed details from a conversation with a musician who was performing when the disaster struck.
“He said that there was a fire at the cut-out switch, and after that things happened very quickly. There was blasting and everybody tried to flee from the smoke and flames. Many of them were not able to make their way out because they went to the back of the building and tried to hide themselves from the smoke and flames in the toilet, and that’s where we found most of the bodies.”

While official first responders arrived shortly after midnight, the fire was initially spotted around 11:30 PM local time by a passing motorist.
Speaking to the Daily News, the driver recounted stopping his vehicle and smashing the venue’s windows to successfully rescue two people trapped inside.
An official investigation into the exact cause of the electrical failure and subsequent fire is currently underway.
