Lemhannas Goes to Campus: Strengthening National Character at UB for “Indonesia Emas 2045”

Malanginspirasi.com – The National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI) successfully held its “Lemhannas Goes to Campus” program at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) on Thursday, 20 November 2025 .Held at the Samantha Krida Building, the event featured a general lecture and panel discussion aimed at reinforcing national character among students—the generation destined to lead the country into the “Golden Indonesia 2045 (Indonesia Emas 2045)” era.

Governor of Lemhannas RI, Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si., stressed that the future of the nation rests in the hands of today’s youth.

He reminded the audience that young people have always been the driving force of change in Indonesia’s history – from the fight against colonialism, the 1928 Youth Pledge, pressuring Soekarno to proclaim independence, to the 1998 Reformasi movement.

“This nation would not exist without the courage of its youth. History proves that young people have always played a strategic role in shaping the country’s direction,” he said.

He warned that Indonesia currently faces serious challenges, including social polarization, identity crises, and a weakening sense of unity.

Strengthening national character, he added, is essential so that the 2045 generation can maintain harmony amid geopolitical pressures and the rapid flow of digital information.

“Indonesia is blessed with immense natural wealth, but that must never make us complacent. A strong national character is needed to prevent division,” he emphasized.

The event began with opening remarks by UB Vice Rector Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, S.H., M.H., who noted that with more than 72,000 students from across Indonesia, the university is an ideal place to reinforce national values in a competitive global era.

The keynote lecture was delivered by the Lemhannas Governor, followed by a panel discussion featuring:

1. Dr. H. Emil Elestianto Dardak, B.Bus., M.Sc. – Vice Governor of East Java

The panelists discussed the importance of digital literacy, information resilience, food security, and the role of universities in character building.

Maj. Gen. Rido Hermawan highlighted four key issues for achieving Golden Indonesia 2045, including the optimal use of national resources and the development of superior, competitive human resources.

Student Enthusiasm and Strategic Goals

The students in attendance responded positively to the session.

Dawa, a Sociology student from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), found the event highly insightful and relevant.

“The input is valuable for us as Gen Z, who, as mentioned earlier, will hold full responsibility in 2045. Personally, I found the materials presented by the panelists and the Governor to be excellent,” Dawa commented.

The “Lemhannas Goes to Campus” program is part of a broader strategy to strengthen national resilience through higher education. Campuses are viewed as the training ground for future leaders who will manage the state’s strategic apparatus in the next 20 to 30 years.

Through this initiative, Lemhannas aims to foster a collective awareness among students regarding the direction of national development, the importance of national values in the digital context, and the need for active participation in maintaining social cohesion.

The event concluded with a Q&A session where active participants received prizes, followed by a call to strengthen future collaboration between Lemhannas and Universitas Brawijaya.
