en.malanginspirasi.com – Lionel Messi has reached an agreement in principle to acquire 100% of Spanish second-division side CD Eldense from its Colombian owners, multiple reports confirmed on Tuesday.

The Inter Miami forward would purchase the entire stake held by TH Soluciones Group S.A.S., a Colombian investment group that took control of the club in October 2025.

The deal remains subject to due diligence and final approval from Spain’s Higher Council for Sports (CSD). An official announcement is expected in the coming days.

This would mark Messi’s second club ownership in Spain, following his acquisition of fifth-tier Catalan side UE Cornellà in April 2026.

Eldense would become his first fully professional Spanish club.

Founded in 1921 and based in the town of Elda in Alicante province, CD Eldense plays its home matches at the 5,776-capacity Estadio Municipal Nuevo Pepico Amat.

The club’s red-and-blue (azulgrana) stripes have drawn comparisons to Barcelona’s colours.

After spending most of its history in the lower divisions, Eldense has competed in the second tier in three of the past four seasons, securing promotion again this summer after a previous relegation.

The team currently sits near the bottom of the Segunda División table and recently underwent a coaching change, with Claudio Barragán dismissed earlier this week.

The move fits Messi’s expanding multi-club portfolio, which includes his current role and future stake at Inter Miami, as well as his ownership of Cornellà.

The Alicante location also places the club relatively close to Catalonia, where the Argentine is expected to base himself after ending his playing career. If completed, the takeover would inject new resources and global visibility into the historic club.
