en.malanginspirasi.com – Ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 H/2026, Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat conducted an inspection of sacrificial animals in the Jalan Saxofone area, Malang City, on Monday (25 May 2026) afternoon.
The inspection was carried out in collaboration with the Malang City Food Security and Agriculture Agency (Dispangtan).
During the visit, The Mayor directly examined two cows and two goats being sold at a livestock stall.
The examination included checking the animals’ physical condition, teeth, body shape, and verifying the completeness of health certificates issued by veterinarians.
“These animals have already been examined by veterinarians, marked with stickers, and declared healthy and fit for sale and sacrifice,” Wahyu Hidayat stated after the inspection as quoted on his official Instagram.
He explained that the Malang City Government has deployed approximately 400 personnel including veterinarians from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universitas Brawijaya (UB).
These teams have been assigned to various livestock sales points across the city to conduct intensive ante-mortem inspections.
So far, all sacrificial animals inspected have been reported as healthy and suitable.

The city government continues to tighten supervision to prevent the spread of diseases such as Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) and other zoonotic diseases.
This activity is part of the Malang City Government’s commitment to ensuring that sacrificial meat circulating in the community meets the ASUH standards, Safe, Healthy, Whole, and Halal.
Wahyu also actively shared moments from the inspection on his official Instagram account, urging residents to only purchase animals that have received official health stickers from authorized officers.
The health inspection of sacrificial animals in Malang City began in early May 2026 and will continue until the day of Eid al-Adha.
