FBiPK UB Explores International Collaboration with USSEIN Senegal

en.malanginspirasi.com — The Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Bioindustry, Brawijaya University (FBiPK UB)  strengthened its international network through a Potential Collaboration Discussion, MoA Signing Ceremony, and Guest Lecture with the University of Sine Saloum El-Hadj Ibrahima NIASS (USSEIN), Senegal.

The event took place on Monday (May 25, 2026) in the 2nd-Floor Meeting Room of the FBiPK UB Central Building.

The leadership and academic community of FBiPK UB, including the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship FBiPK Dr. Noer Rahmi Ardiarini, S.P., M.Si., the Chair and the entire International Office Team, all Chairs and Secretaries of Departments within FBiPK, and a delegation from USSEIN led by the Deputy Director of the Training and Research Unit in Agronomic Sciences, Livestock, Fisheries-Aquaculture and Nutrition (SAEPAN) attended the meeting

Also in attendance were academic guests from Senegal and France to strengthen international cooperation and academic exchange.

The event began with a discussion on potential collaborations, addressing opportunities for cooperation in education, research, community service, student and lecturer exchanges, and joint scientific publications.

The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) as a commitment by both institutions to building a sustainable academic partnership concluded this event.

In her remarks, she expressed his appreciation for the visit of the international delegation.

She emphasized that international collaboration is a strategic step in improving academic quality and research innovation amidst global challenges.

“We believe that this occasion represents not only an institutional meeting, but also an important milestone in building a long-term partnership based on mutual respect, shared academic interests, and a common commitment to addressing global challenges in agriculture, forestry, environmental sustainability, and rural development,” she said.

She also highlighted the shared characteristics between Indonesia and Senegal as developing countries with strong agricultural sectors and diverse socio-ecological landscapes.

Furthermore, she believes this opens up significant opportunities for the development of joint research and innovation.

“Indonesia and Senegal share many similarities as developing countries with strong agricultural sectors and diverse socio-ecological landscapes. Therefore, we believe there is enormous potential for collaboration between our institutions, especially in tropical agriculture, agroforestry systems, sustainable land management, climate adaptation, food systems, and community-based development approaches,” he added.

FBiPK UB affirmed its commitment to expanding global partnerships with various universities and research institutions in Europe, Asia, and Africa. This collaboration is expected to support academic capacity building while contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals.

Through this activity, both institutions hope to realize various collaborative programs such as joint research, joint publications, lecturer and student exchanges, guest lectures, and strengthening international academic networks.

The event was lively and interactive, concluding with an academic discussion session and exchange of ideas between the international delegation and the FBiPK UB academic community.
