en.malanginspirasi.com – The President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Ibu Marsinah Museum and Shelter in Nglundo Village, Sukomoro District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java, on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
The inauguration honored the nation’s long-standing struggle for human rights and workers’ rights, and also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting workers’ struggles in Indonesia.
Upon arrival, he toured the house where Marsinah lived during her lifetime as well as met and greeted Marsinah’s extended family.
Afterward, he toured the Ibu Marsinah Museum and Shelter complex, built on 938 square meters of land.
The complex consists of two main buildings: a memorial museum and a shelter to serve as educational and reflection spaces for the community.
Inside the museum, President Prabowo personally viewed various collections of Marsinah’s belongings on display, including factory uniforms, bags, wallets, bicycles, and personal documents such as elementary and high school diplomas.
Several awards from various labor organizations were also on display, reflecting Marsinah’s track record of her struggle for workers’ rights.

In his remarks, President Prabowo stated that the inauguration of the Mrs. Marsinah Museum in Nganjuk Regency was an important moment to commemorate the struggle of workers and to honor Marsinah’s courage as a symbol of the common people’s struggle for rights and justice.
Prabowo considered the museum a rare event, dedicated specifically to commemorating the workers’ struggle.
“This is perhaps a rare event; perhaps this is the first time in the world that there is a workers’ museum. But please check, it certainly is. But this is a rare event,” said Prabowo.
The President also emphasized that the Mrs. Marsinah Museum was built as a symbol and milestone to commemorate the struggle of a young woman who fought for workers’ rights and to symbolize the struggle of the weak and powerless.
“I believe this museum was established as a symbol, a symbol, and a milestone to commemorate the courage of a fighter. A young fighter, a female fighter who fought for workers’ rights,” said President Prabowo.
After delivering his remarks, Prabowo signed a plaque marking the inauguration of the Ibu Marsinah Museum and Shelter.
The Ibu Marsinah Museum is expected to become a historical educational tourism destination in Nganjuk Regency, as well as a learning tool for the younger generation about the importance of social justice, human rights protection, and respect for the workers’ struggle in Indonesia.
