Malanginspirasi.com – Sekolah Islam Sabilillah Malang (Sisma) has reported an impressive 8.98 percent increase in new student enrollment for the 2025/2026 academic year. This surge serves as a significant indicator of the growing trust and popularity of Sabilillah among the community, extending beyond the Malang Raya region to various parts of Indonesia.
The event, attended by thousands of students and their guardians from all levels of education, from kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels, was inaugurated directly by the Director of the Lembaga Pendidikan Islam(LPI) Sekolah Islam Sabilillah Malang, Prof. Dr. H. Ibrahim Bafadal, M.Pd.
“Sabilillah School is not just a place of learning, but a place to shape leaders of world civilization. Religious, Quranic, mastering science and technology, and possessing noble character,” said Prof. Ibrahim.

In his speech, Prof. Ibrahim also invited all parents to participate in accompanying their children’s education process with love. He said that the character of Sabilillah students is formed from comprehensive Islamic values, including love for Allah and the Prophet, parents, teachers, knowledge, and the nation.
“Love is the main foundation. With that love, our children will grow into individuals who are resilient and globally competitive,” he said.
Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ali Muthohirin who attended the inauguration, said he is also a parent at the school.
In his address, he emphasized that Sekolah Sabilillah has become a beacon of hope for many parents in Malang.
“This school has become a reference point. Many parents strive to ensure their children can attend Sabilillah. This is not just about numbers, but about the trust built on quality and values,” he remarked.
Currently, Sekolah Sabilillah has 2,169 students guided by 193 educators, resulting in a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:10. Among the faculty, 5 hold doctoral degrees (S3), 29 hold master’s degrees (S2), and the remaining are education graduates, with some pursuing further studies.

Lembaga Pendidikan Islam (LPI) Sabilillah Malang also has a Blueprint 2030, serving as a long-term development direction to realize the vision of an excellent school and an international reference in shaping world civilization leaders who are Islamic, nationalistic, and intellectual.
To support the achievement of this vision, Sekolah Sabilillah began implementing the Cambridge curriculum for Mathematics, Science, and English in the 2024/2025 academic year, and expanded it in 2025/2026 to all levels of kindergarten Group A and B, elementary school grades 1-4, junior high school grades 7-8, and senior high school grades 10-11.
Moreover, Sekolah Sabilillah has become part of the International School Association (ISA) – a global network of international schools, and has established strategic partnerships with various institutions, such as Cambridge University Press (UK), Universitas Negeri Malang, Universitas Brawijaya, Politeknik Negeri Malang, UIN Maliki Malang, and several well-known Islamic boarding schools and Al-Qur’an institutions.

New students began attending classes on July 10, 2025, and participated in the Character Building Period (MBK) program, which serves as the initial foundation of education at Sabilillah. This program aims to cultivate independent learner personalities with values of ethics, discipline, responsibility, and technological proficiency.
The school has also implemented digital-based learning through smart classrooms using Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) at all levels, in an effort to align character education with technological mastery.
“The key to the success of education lies not only in academic achievement, but also in the character and morality of children. And Sabilillah demonstrates seriousness in both,” emphasized the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ali Muthohirin.
