en.malanginspirasi.com –  The Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) academic community is mourning the passing of one of its distinguished lecturers, Airlangga Pribadi Kusman, SIP, MSi, PhD.

The lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNAIR and Head of the Master’s Program in Political Science passed away on Thursday (September 9, 2026), at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital (RSPAD), Central Jakarta.

His passing has left a profound sense of loss among his family, colleagues, and the wider academic community.

Airlangga was widely known as a dedicated scholar who consistently championed the values of democracy and social justice.

UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, SE, MSi, MFin, expressed his deepest condolences over the passing of Airlangga, who was affectionately known as Angga.

Prof. Madyan described Angga as a lecturer who demonstrated a high level of dedication in carrying out his responsibilities at Universitas Airlangga.

A Distinguished Academic Journey

Born in Jombang on November 23, 1976, Airlangga Pribadi developed a strong passion for social and political studies. His academic journey eventually led him to pursue doctoral studies in Australia.

He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Politics from Murdoch University, Australia, in 2016. Upon returning to Indonesia, he devoted his expertise to the Department of Politics at FISIP UNAIR.

Throughout his academic career, Airlangga’s contributions extended beyond teaching and research.

Public recognized him for his sharp and consistent analysis of Indonesia’s political landscape and actively contributed to public discussions on various socio-political issues.
