EN.malanginspirasi.com – Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIB UB) continues to expand its global partnerships. In the past month alone, at least five Japanese companies have visited the faculty for recruitment drives and collaboration discussions, creating exciting new internship and employment opportunities for FIB UB students.
The largest visit took place in February 2026 when a delegation from the Kochi Prefecture Government, Japan, arrived at FIB UB. Four companies joined the delegation:
- Marunaka Transportation
- Hiwasaki Corporation (energy sector)
- Sachi Co. Ltd. (elderly care services)
- Koryo Holdings (education and automotive sectors)

These companies directly offered internship programs and job opportunities to students. The Kochi delegation highlighted the growing demand for Indonesian workers in Japan, particularly graduates who are proficient in Japanese language and culture.
FIB UB alumni currently interning in Japan were also invited to share their real-life experiences on cultural adaptation and career prospects.

In addition, FIB UB welcomed separate visits from Atago Driving School based in Nagasaki, Japan. The company came twice — on 5 March 2026 for an introductory meeting and on 12 March 2026 for socialization and internship recruitment discussions.
Atago opened new opportunities in the driving instructor sector, an area rarely filled by Indonesian workers.
Representatives from Atago noted that Indonesian labor in Japan has long been concentrated in agriculture. They emphasized the importance of diversification and expressed strong interest in recruiting Indonesians as driving trainers and instructors.

This program serves as an innovative step in opening new opportunities for FIB UB students to gain more diverse international experience.
Strategic Impact on Student Development and University Goals
Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at FIB UB, Dr. Yusri Fajar, S.S., M.A., warmly welcomed the series of collaborations. He stated that international internships not only provide valuable work experience but also sharpen students’ soft skills.
“Through these programs, students are expected to develop cross-cultural communication abilities, global workplace adaptability, and the professionalism required in the international arena,” said Dr. Yusri.

These visits reinforce FIB UB’s position as a strategic partner supplying high-quality human resources in language, culture, and cross-cultural communication to the Japanese job market.
