Emerging Young Leader in Politics: Lutfitunnada Purwaningrum

Malanginspirasi.com – Lutfitunnada Purwaningrum, a distinguished alumnus of the Faculty of Government Studies at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), stands out as a remarkable young politician. At just 29 years old, she has successfully carved a niche for herself in the political arena. Achieving the notable position of a member of the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) in Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), South Sumatra.

Her journey is marked by a steadfast commitment to public service and societal engagement, which began during her university years.

Known for her active participation in various academic and organizational activities, Purwaningrum developed a keen interest in governance and politics. Driving her involvement in social and youth initiatives. This early engagement provided her with invaluable experience and knowledge, serving as a solid foundation for her political aspirations.

The 2024 election underscored her growing presence in the political landscape, as she successfully defended her legislative seat for a second term.

She faced many challenges, especially being a young woman in a relatively male-dominated world.

Yet, Nada confidently stepped up to the plate, aware that her journey would be scrutinized.

“There were doubts about my capabilities when I first ran for office,” she recalls.

However, Nada remains undeterred.

“I believe that good intentions will yield positive outcomes. Especially with the experience and knowledge I gained during my studies at UMM,” she shares, which reflects her optimistic and resilient spirit.

Balancing Life

Balancing her political career with motherhood, she emphasizes the importance of managing personal and public responsibilities effectively. To her, serving as a representative of the people is a significant mandate that requires dedication and accountability.

Her dual role as a lawmaker and a mother illustrates the possibility of harmonizing career aspirations with familial duties.

Purwaningrum’s achievements are not only a source of inspiration for young individuals and fellow UMM alumni. But also reinforce the reputation of the university as a breeding ground for competent and competitive graduates.

Muhammad Kamil SIP MA, the head of the Political Science program, expressed his pride in Nada’s accomplishments. He believes her success serves as an inspiration for other students to aspire not just in politics, but in various fields.

“I hope that Lutfitunnada Purwaningrum’s journey motivates other students to make a difference,” he stressed, highlighting the university’s commitment to nurturing capable leaders.
