en.malanginspirasi.com – East Java Provincial Council (DPRD) member and Chair of the Setia Budi Wanita (SBW) Cooperative, Dr. Sri Untari Bisowarno, expressed her deepest appreciation for the East Java Provincial Tourism Office’s progressive move in successfully staging the innovative mask performance ‘Satya Laku’.
This strategic move is considered an extraordinary breakthrough in preserving the Panji Mask amidst the onslaught of modernization, while simultaneously bringing traditional art closer to millennials and Gen Z.
She mentioned that modifying the performance approach without losing the original essence of the Panji story is a very appropriate formula.
The place was full of enthusiasm of the approximately 2,000 young audience members who filled the performance space at the East Java Cultural Park.

“Tonight I attended the ‘Satya Laku’ mask performance. This is an extraordinary program from the Tourism Office to preserve the Panji Mask, specifically to introduce and educate millennials and Gen Z about this cultural heritage. The story remains Panji, but it has been expertly modified to suit the spirit of young audiences,” said Sri Untari on the sidelines of the event.

The combination of masked performance and campursari music was beautiful while an icebreaker session by two young comedians could provide refreshing jokes enlightening the mood.
Also attending the event include by stakeholders from the East Java Provincial Tourism Office, including the Head of the Office, Heads of Divisions, and the Head of the East Java Cultural Park Technical Implementation Unit (UPT). Also in attendance were regional ambassadors such as Joko Roro of Malang Regency, Joko Roro Cilik of Malang Regency, and Kakang Mbakyu of Malang City, who enlivened the performance.
