en.malanginspirasi.com – Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone insists he will do everything possible to help Julian Alvarez feel valued upon his return to squad training, even as tension mounts over the forward’s future at the club.
Amid ongoing speculation, Atletico has firmly ruled out a transfer to Barcelona, leaving a potential move to Arsenal as the 26-year-old’s primary alternative.
Alvarez, who registered 20 goals across 49 appearances last season, was left out of the squad for Saturday’s La Liga fixture against Sevilla after missing three consecutive training sessions due to health reasons.
“From the moment he returns to training, I will do everything I can to make him feel important,” said Simeone.
When pressed on whether the relationship between the player and the club could be repaired, he added, “As long as you have your health, everything in life can be turned around.”
Atletico issued two public statements inside 24 hours this week, reinforcing their refusal to sanction a move to Barca.
Addressing the intense media interest surrounding the dispute, Simeone noted that the club had already been “forceful and clear” regarding their position.

“I’m still in the same position, hoping, from a sporting point of view, to be able to help him in the best way so that he continues to be the very important player he is for us,” Simeone explained. “Julian will not be there [on Saturday] against Sevilla, who have just won two games and will be high with confidence.”
The manager faces an additional tactical challenge upfront with Alexander Sorloth sidelined through injury, compounding the absence of Alvarez.
“Sorloth’s absence hurts us. He’s very important for us,” Simeone stated. “In this situation with Julian, it has much more impact. The team will try collectively to find solutions to score goals and win. We are working with them on that awareness. We are going to try to improve it collectively.”
Despite the off-field narrative, Simeone dismissed suggestions that the dressing room has been disrupted by the transfer saga.
“Honestly, no,” he said. “The boys are working very well, especially the World Cup players. The team played good matches against Malaga and Villarreal and we are focused on playing a good match [against Sevilla].”
Meanwhile, new arrival Cristian Romero—who signed from Tottenham for €40m (£34.2m)—is included in the travelling squad for the Sevilla match, though Simeone indicated the defender will be integrated gradually: “He needs time to find his best form and we will not speed up the time to rush him, so that he feels that he is in a position to perform as well as he should.”
