en.malanginspirasi.com – German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Mrs. Elke Büdenbender arrived in Jakarta for a state visit to Indonesia in strengthening partnership of Indonesia and Germany.
The aircraft carrying President Frank-Walter landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, at approximately 9:20 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, on Monday, June 15, 2026.
Several officials from both countries greeted the president and wife upon arrival at the bottom of the aircraft’s steps.
Among those present were Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, German Ambassador to Indonesia Ralf Beste, Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Abdul Kadir Jailani, and German Defense Attaché Colonel (GS) Marcus Thiel.
The welcoming ceremony took place solemnly, with a guard of honor standing at attention along the reception route. The presence of these guards is part of the official honors for heads of state paying a state visit to Indonesia.

President Frank-Walter Steinmeier then passed through the guard of honor accompanied by drum band music.
Furthermore, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Mrs. Elke Büdenbender were welcomed with a traditional Indonesian dance.
Both watched for a moment before heading to their official vehicles. This welcoming ceremony reflected the strong friendship and bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Germany, which continues to grow in various fields.
Following the welcoming ceremony, the President and the First Lady, and their entourage were scheduled to head to the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta for a series of state visit agendas, including a meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
