Malanginspirasi.com – Universitas Ma Chung marked its 18th anniversary with a vibrant celebration on Monday, July 7, 2025. The Dies Natalis, themed “Collective Impact for Sustaining Growth,” saw the esteemed institution, founded in 2007, inaugurate two new Professors from the Faculty of Economics and Business: Pieter Sahertian and Anna Triwijayati. This significant event brings the total number of Professors at Universitas Ma Chung to six.
The ceremony at the Balai Pertiwi Universitas Ma Chung was attended by university leaders, faculty, students, industry partners, educational figures from within Indonesia and abroad, and the Head of LLDIKTI Region VII, Dyah Sawitri.
Rector Prof. Stefanus Yufra M. Taneo highlighted the past year as a pivotal phase in accelerating the university’s performance across the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (the three pillars of higher education: education, research, and community service), institutional governance, and international collaborations.
“The appointment of these two new Professors not only enriches the academic landscape of our campus but also strengthens Universitas Ma Chung’s reputation as an institution ready to compete globally,” the Rector proudly stated.
Two Inaugural Lectures Spotlight Leadership and Digital Transformation
The inauguration also featured insightful academic orations from the newly appointed Professors. Prof. Pieter Sahertian addressed the theme of “Value-Based Leadership: Challenges Amidst Global Diversity and Digital Ethics,” emphasizing the need for adaptable leaders in the face of complex cultural landscapes and technological ethics.

Meanwhile, Prof. Anna, in her oration, explored “Prosumption in the Digital Capitalist Era: Monetization or Creativity?” She dissected the dynamics of consumers who are now also producers of content within an increasingly pervasive digital ecosystem.
Support from LLDIKTI and the Harapan Bangsa Sejahtera Foundation
Expressing support, Head of LLDIKTI Dyah Sawitri reflected that earning the title of Professor is more than an academic achievement—it is a responsibility to be a driver of social change.
“The title of Professor is both an honor and a mandate. Lecturers are expected not only to be scientifically productive but also to lead societal transformation,” she stated.
Echoing this sentiment, Tee Teguh Kinarto, Chairman of Yayasan Harapan Bangsa Sejahtera, conveyed optimism regarding the university’s strategic direction. He affirmed that Universitas Ma Chung is entering a maturation phase on its path to becoming a distinguished, independent, and community-preferred university by 2027.
In the Rector’s annual report, notable accomplishments were highlighted, including over 125 scientific publications, a significant increase in international partnerships, and media coverage with more than 258 online reports during the academic year.
These achievements demonstrate how collective enthusiasm and the dedication of all campus elements enable Universitas Ma Chung to enhance its strategic role in fostering a collective impact to realize sustainable growth in higher education.
