en.malanginspirasi.com – The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri) arrested a total of six members of the South Tangerang (Tangsel) Police Narcotics Unit for involvement in an etomidate drug abuse probe.
The Head of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Public Relations Division, Inspector General Jhonny Edison Isir, stated the commitment in eradicating all crimes relate to drugs and narcotics without discrimination.
One of those arrested was the Head of the South Tangerang Police Narcotics Unit, AKP Pardiman.
He stated that the disclosure is part of the National Police’s commitment to take firm action against all forms of narcotics abuse, including those involving internal personnel.
“As a law enforcement institution mandated to eradicate all forms of crime, including narcotics, which constitute extraordinary crimes. The National Police will not tolerate any form of narcotics and psychotropic abuse, either by the public or suspected violators within the National Police,” said Jhonny Edison Isir on Monday, July 27th.

These personnel were arrested in connection with alleged drug trafficking, drug abuse, and alleged abuse of authority in narcotics law enforcement.
Jhonny Edison Isir emphasized that Polri will not grant special treatment or impunity to personnel proven involved in narcotics networks or other drug-related crimes.
“The National Police leadership has firmly guaranteed that there will be no impunity for any Polri personnel involved in narcotics networks. We are implementing stricter examination standards to maintain the institution’s dignity,” he said.
Currently, investigators from the Narcotics Crime Directorate of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) are still handling the criminal case to thoroughly uncover the case.
It includes investigating the alleged roles of each of the arrested parties.
Meanwhile, further handling of aspects of the Polri professional code of ethics for the personnel involved will be handled by the Professional and Security Division (Bidpropam) of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police in accordance with applicable regulations.
Polri ensures that the entire handling process, both related to criminal aspects and the code of ethics, in professional way and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
