EN.malanginspirasi.com – Starting Friday, March 13, 2026, through Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the East Java Regional Police (Polda Jatim), together with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and relevant agencies, will conduct Operation Ketupat Semeru 2026 for 13 days.
The operation aims to ensure that the sacred Nyepi holiday marking the Saka New Year 1948 on March 19 and Idulfitri 1447 H on March 21 proceed safely and smoothly, including the heavy mudik (homecoming) and balik (return) traffic flows during the Lebaran period.
East Java Police Chief Irjen Pol Drs. Nanang Avianto, M.Si., stressed that the operation prioritizes serving travelers with a humanistic approach.
“The public has placed high hopes that their worship and mudik journeys will be safe, comfortable, and conducive,” he said during the Cross-Sectoral Coordination Meeting at Polda Jatim headquarters earlier this week.
A total of 16,326 personnel — comprising police officers, TNI members, local government officials, and community leaders — will be deployed to secure 238 posts across East Java: 172 Security Posts, 45 Service Posts, and 21 Integrated Posts.

This operation continues the earlier Operation Keselamatan Semeru, which has been running since February. Its main priorities are smooth traffic flow, accident prevention, protection of places of worship, and maintaining public order.
The strategy combines preemptive education, preventive measures, and law enforcement when necessary.
Operation Ketupat Semeru 2026 carries the theme “Mudik Aman, Keluarga Bahagia” (Safe Homecoming, Happy Family).
With this theme, Polda Jatim hopes every traveler will reach their destination safely and reunite with loved ones in a joyful atmosphere.
Travelers preparing for mudik are strongly advised to check their vehicle condition, obey all traffic rules, and make full use of the security posts for rest and the latest information.
